Top Hack and Slash Apps in South Africa for Q3 2022

In the third quarter of 2022, the hack and slash genre saw varied performance among the top five apps in South Africa. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Honkai Impact 3rd from COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. exhibited a strong upward trend in weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.8K in mid-September. Weekly downloads fluctuated, hitting a high of about 435 in early July and a low of 230 in early September. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight dip in early September before recovering to approximately 1.2K by the end of the quarter.

MARVEL Future Fight by Netmarble Corporation saw its weekly revenue reach a peak of around $874 in late July, with another significant spike of $734 in mid-September. Downloads were highest at the end of June with 2.1K and saw a resurgence to nearly 2K by late September. Active users peaked at about 23.8K in the last week of September, maintaining a strong presence throughout the quarter.

Disney Mirrorverse from Kabam Games, Inc. experienced a decline in both weekly revenue and downloads over the quarter. Revenue started at $849 at the end of June but dropped to around $175 by the end of September. Downloads followed a similar trend, starting strong with 3.2K at the end of June but falling to 229 by late September. Active users also declined from 2.4K to around 669 over the same period.

Shadow Hunter: Lost Worlds by ENIGMA SOFTWARE JOINT STOCK COMPANY saw modest weekly revenue, peaking at $383 in mid-September. Downloads were relatively low, with the highest being 55 in early August and a low of 6 in early September. Active users remained stable, hovering around 200-250 throughout the quarter.

Legacy of Discord-FuriousWings from YOUZU GAMES HONGKONG LIMITED had a steady revenue stream, peaking at $137 in late August. Despite no significant downloads reported, the active user base showed a declining trend, dropping from 298 in late June to 183 by the end of September.
